ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Nova Southeastern Sharks were swept in their first road SSC series of the season against Eckerd in a tightly contested weekend at the Turley Athletic Complex.

- The Tritons third batter of the game, Ella Coiner, hit a solo home run down the right field line to take an early 1-0 lead.
- Neither team was able to score again until the fifth inning behind strong performances from both starting pitchers. The Sharks' Gracelyn Wallace dealt six innings, striking out seven and only allowing four Triton base hits.
- Eckerd resumed the scoring in the fifth with a 2 RBI single from Gracie Ciccarello hit into the right-centerfield gap.
- The Tritons added on to the lead in the sixth with another solo home run, this time from Hannah Taylor.
- The Sharks rallied in the seventh when Taylor Rogers hit her second home run of the season to left-center to cut into the lead, but the rally attempt ended with the tying run at the plate handing Eckerd the series opener.

- In another pitcher's duel the Sharks were led by Avery Desner who dealt six innings allowing just three runs on five hits. The Sharks were limited to just two hits offensively.
- The game remained scoreless until the bottom of the fourth when Eckerd found the scoreboard first on an RBI fielder's choice.
- The Tritons would add onto the lead in the fifth with a sacrifice fly and a RBI single to take a 3-0 lead.
- Both of NSU's hits and runs would come in the sixth with Destiny Lewis reaching on a single before Ana Richiez drove her home on her third homer of the season, drawing NSU within a run.
- The rally quickly ended after an Eckerd pitching change led to the Tritons taking the first game of the Saturday doubleheader.

- NSU jumped out to a quick lead with a three-run home run from Ana Richiez marking her fourth of the season, and second of the day including the first game of the doubleheader.
- Eckerd got two back in the third on a solo home run and a RBI single.
- NSU would extend its lead in the sixth with a home run from Destiny Lewis. Her fourth long ball of the year drove in Gianna Russo to take a 5-2 lead in the series finale.
- Eckerd's Hannah Taylor continued her big weekend with a bases-clearing 3 RBI double in the bottom of the sixth to tie the game. Neither team scored in the seventh to force extra innings for the first time in 2026 for the Sharks.
- The Tritons walked it off with two outs in the eighth on the second home run of the series from Ella Coiner. The win gave Eckerd its best start in conference play in program history.
